Kitchen Budget Calculator

Remodeling your kitchen will add substantial value to your home. By that I mean, added value to your enjoyment of your home. From a pure resale value, you can figure 64%-70% ROI (based upon these most recent figures). Determining your budget is one of the most important elements in starting your project. It is my goal to help you understand what it will take financially, and where the money goes. In order to maximize your investment, a typical kitchen remodel should represent between 7% and 19% of your home’s value. This is not a hard and fast rule, but it does hold water. Obviously these numbers are approximate and every project is unique. They are designed to get you “into the ballpark”. I hope you find it informative.

This budget estimator shows

  1. The comparison of your budget to the generally accepted numbers in the area.
  2. Approximately how much you will be spending per construction  category of your project.
  3. A Materials Allowance column designed to peel away the installation costs, leaving a rough shopping budget.

Budget Estimator Instructions

Step 2: Insert the Budget for your remodeling project in the GREEN area.
