Building Memories: A Case Study in Crafting the Ideal Family Gathering Place
The Challenge
This 1999 home is part of a tight knit subdivision. The family wanted to have a gathering place for themselves to relax and enjoy time together, and a place away from the daily activities for the kids to gather and have a good time with their friends. TV, movies, board games or ping pong.
The Idea
We discovered a hidden potential space at the end of a hall that was being used for storage. It was over living space but we felt that if we removed everything and added new structure that we could easily span the space and create a harmonizing media / family room.
The Solution
We tore into the home and created their dream come true. Despite torrential rains and having to protect the home from them (at all hours of the night), we got it done and they are enjoying it completely.
The Details
Harmonizing windows, roofing, siding and interior finishes. Custom cabinetry, a high efficiency ductless mini split system, and audio visual by the Stereo Shoppe.
