Estimates

Getting A Project Estimate

How do I get a project estimate?

Call with details about your project, including scope, timeline, and any specific requirements or goals. We’ll review the information and might ask a few more questions. We will offer to visit your home to ensure we fully understand your needs before providing an Opinion of Probable Construction Cost.

What info do I need to provide for an accurate estimate?

At our In person visit, share as much as you can about the project’s objectives, timeline, desired outcomes, and any must-haves and constraints. The more detailed your information, the more accurate our estimate will be.

Can the initial estimate change during design?

Yes, it can. If the project scope changes up or down, or if unexpected complexities arise, we’ll communicate these changes and discuss any impact on the project’s cost and timeline.

How long does it take to get an estimate?

Typically, it takes about 3-5 business days to summarize and articulate everything we want to say. However, more complex projects might require a bit more time to assess properly.

What if I have a tight budget?

Let us know your budget constraints from the get-go. We’ll do our best to work within your parameters, suggesting cost-effective solutions or adjustments to the project scope.

What happens after I approve the estimate?

Once we respond by email after our visit to your home, you will be offered an invitation to our design process. (provided we believe there is a good fit). In that invitation you will receive instructions to enter our Design Process. Once in Design, you will be ushered through the steps of Design on the way to Construction.

How The Design Process Works

How does the Levco remodeling process start?

It kicks off with a free in home consultation. You’ll chat with Joe the owner  about your vision, budget, and timeline. This helps us get a clear picture of what you’re looking to achieve. After that meeting you will receive an email outlining our synopsis, opinion of cost and an invitation to the Design Process.

What happens after the initial consultation?

Once we’ve got all the details down, we’ll draft a reply and an invitation to our Design Process. This includes a synopsis of the situation, a preliminary description of work, an opinion of probable construction cost, and an initiation to join our Design Process.

How do you handle changes to the project scope?

Changes happen, and we get that. If you decide to tweak something mid-project, we’ll adjust keep you informed periodically with updates to the Projected Project Cost. We aim to be flexible and transparent to ensure the outcome is not a surprise.

Can I see samples of materials before deciding?

Absolutely. We believe seeing and touching materials is key to making informed decisions. We’ll provide samples and even accompany you as needed to showrooms. This way, you’re confident in every choice you make.

How do you ensure the process stays on schedule?

Our Design process has logical steps. As we complete them, we also let you know what to expect next.  From drafting refinements to Description Of Work, to selecting Finish Materials, we document everything, gain approvals from you, and share it on our client portal .

What about permits and other hurdles?

Leave that to us. We handle all necessary governmental and regulative requirements up to but not including permitting until we get into a construction agreement. We know the ins and outs of local regulations, so you can relax knowing we will fight for what you need.

How The Construction Process Works

What if change my mind during construction?

Changes are unexpected things that differ from our DOW and DSS. They are not always bad news. Sometimes there are great opportunities or a something a minute as a color change. Regardless, we document the change and get agreement before we continue.

What does the warranty period look like?

Warranty is for a year from completion. We have a bunch of great information about how to care for your project. After that period we want to be the first to know about anything that comes up. Odds are we can help in some way because we care and it is our reputation that matters.

How involved can I be in the construction process?

Clients often want to be part of their projects and we get that. It makes it easier if we get you involved in the end with something not so time critical or dangerous like painting. Every case is different, make your wishes known early so we can incorporate what we agree to in our project documentation. We encourage your participation in monitoring progress. Kudos go a long way!

How do you structure your payments?

Payments are scheduled based upon the individual needs of the project. There is one at signing, one at start of work, and one at the end.  Beyond that we typically ask for monthly progress payments. All payments are all scheduled and part of the Construction Agreement. Change Order payments are due before the work on that specific thing is done.

How do I stay up to date on the progress?

We use a communication platform called Builder Trend. It is a communication portal and it houses all of our documents, images and schedule. It is our forward facing communication repository of documentation.

How do you handle quality control?

We have a cadre of great employees, From Construction Manager, Project Managers and 3rd party verification from building inspectors, Engineers and Architects. We stand behind the work and that of our subtrade partners. The buck stops here. We take responsibility and accountability.
