Just the other day, a client in the design process said we were her Dream Team! It was such powerful imagery. It was so colorful and joyful that I had no choice but to rename what we are doing. We are essentially the Dream Team for everyone that selects us to remodel their home.

Sure, basketball coined the phrase and it stuck. MJ (Michael Jordan) and his peers were everything and a cup of soup, but in a way, we are too. Just ask anyone who has had us remodel their home and enjoyed the experience. We are creating dreams, by golly.

What does a Dream Team consist of?

We reverse-engineered it and asked ourselves, if we were going to venture into a remodeling project and we had no idea what we were doing, who would we call? We often attempt to get into the mindset of a client who is fixated on home improvement shows to see where they get the idea that they should start taking a sledge hammer to their walls. “What the hell was I thinking?” Although coming to the rescue is in my blood, I prefer those who take a procedural pause prior to swinging the hammer.

Which reminds me of a funny call. A guy called in the middle of a project where he was taking down a living room wall. He suddenly had that funny feeling that maybe he shouldn’t be doing this, so with 2 studs left to knock out, he called to have me look at what he was doing. Standing on his ladder with my head up in his attic I assured him that what he was doing was going to be OK. Imagine if I had bad news?
